Who we are
I grew up in Cleveland, where my summers were spent along the shores of Lake Erie, searching for and collecting pieces of beach glass worn smooth by the waves. I have deep appreciation for the unique colors and shapes found in each piece of glass.
Wanting to share the natural beauty of these finds, I began creating handmade jewelry that highlights the character and charm of Lake Erie beach glass.
Did you know?
There is a difference between beach glass and sea glass. Beach glass comes from fresh water; it has a different pH balance and is less frosted in appearance than salt water sea glass.
On average a piece of glass or pottery will spend 30-50 years tumbling before it washes ashore smooth and frosty.
The acronym HOMES is a simple way to remember the five Great Lakes: Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. These lakes together make up the largest freshwater system in the world. HOMES captures their unity in one word.
